WHAT MAKES SAILING SCHOOL MEANINGFUL?

 The Crystal Lake Sailing School is a youth program that strives to make a difference in the lives of children. 

How do we make a difference?

Five ways:

  1. We provide a unique experience - Sailing is a unique lifetime skill; it instills social values such as teamwork and self-confidence; and offers an uncommon interaction with nature. 

  2. We give children exceptional opportunities to do great things - There is no limit to the places children can go, and the challenges they can tackle. Olympic sailing can be a reality for ANY child: boy or girl.

  3. Talented Staffing - Starting at the top, the CLSS continually strives to provide the finest instructional talent pool around. We're professionals, not camp counselors. We give children great people to look up to in sailing and in life.

  4. Outstanding resources - From top to bottom, our program can deliver the best possible resources, from a world-class facility to a high-caliber sailing environment. We also have Crystal Lake as our classroom.

  5. Desire - We have a desire to shape the future and to do more for children than simply offer a sport.

We do all of this as a non-profit organization. That's why we need your help.

CURRENT PRIORITIES INCLUDE

  • Boat / Facility Upgrades: Includes premium training boats, improved launch and storage facilities, classroom maintenance, and safety equipment upgrades and replacement.

  • Educational Improvement: Includes instructor training by U.S. Sailing, National Sailing Programs Symposium, assorted clinics and training material.

  • Scholarships for Children: Grants-in-aid, community programs, working with less fortunate children, sailing workshops.

  • Growing the Annual Fund: Unrestricted support provides long-term stability for the future of the Crystal Lake Sailing School organization.
